The Name comes from the front portion of the fly being wrapped with my custom brushes that I hand make with top quality materials here in the shop. The Cutter portion is for how the slim profile head allows it to cut back and forth with the current.
The Brush Cutter is my take on combining some qualities of a couple different fly's and then tied with keeping the overall size down a little to make for easier casting, tight movements and solid hooksets.
There are a few places that it just seems a smaller... relatively speaking... profile seems to work better. It also retains a broader profile than some of the smaller articulated options.
The rear hook is tied on a 4/0 Gamakatsu B10s and the front is on a 5/0 Misfit Musky Hook.
I proudly tie these on a Renzetti Saltwater Traveler to accommodate the larger hooks with ease.
I also utilize some really awesome Nightmare Musky Flys materiel in these and I love the way the Fusion Flash works through the back and withing the premade brushes. And the way the Wavelength flash works with the head really seems to catch the right attention.
